We can’t help but be impressed with the fact that Claus (with an umlaut over the u) has 90,964 fans while we only have 66. The question is why? Do people really like their Centros that much? Or is it the millions of dollars of advertising behind him? It sure as heck can’t be the viral videos. (Can they actually be called viral when there’s a big headline screaming to pass on the “viral“ videos?)
We do applaud the reach and impact of the program. We’ve even grown fond of Erran Baron Cohen’s Hanukkah Oh Hannukkah. Nevertheless we’ve decided to go it alone, without a giant telecom sponsor. So be informed AT&T and Verizon and Sprint, we’re not for sale. We’ll just plug along, spreading the word, building a fan base, slowly but surely proving that you don’t need a corporate bankroll or a fancy TV campaign to make it big. Just give us time.
